Spicy Tomato Gin and Tonics

I’m taking things out of the box a bit, with these Spicy Tomato Gin and Tonics. These G&T’s are the perfect balance of gin, heat, tonic, and overall packed with great flavor. The perfect summer drink to refresh by the pool or out on your porch or backyard. It’s a great batch cocktail to whip up and take to parties as well.

Spicy Tomato Gin and Tonics

Cherry tomatoes are muddled with lime juice and fresh dill in order to create these refreshing Spicy Tomato Gin and Tonics! They're perfect for summer!

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Muddler

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons coarse salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
  • 2 cups heirloom or regular cherry tomatoes cut in half
  • 1 lime juiced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 to 4 teaspoons hot sauce
  • 4 ounces gin
  • 8 ounces tonic water
  • ice cubes
  • cucumber slices for garnish
  • serrano peppers for garnish
  • lime wedges for garnish

Instructions

  • In a small shallow dish, combine the salt, cayenne, and black pepper. Run a lime wedge on the rim of 4 cocktail glasses, and then dip into the seasoning mixture.
  • Divide the cherry tomatoes, lime juice, and dill among each of the glasses. Muddle the ingredients together. Add a dash of Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce to each glass and give it a stir. Top off with ice, and pour 1 ounce of gin in each glass with 2 ounces of tonic water. Garnish with cucumber, serrano peppers, and lime wedges. Enjoy!
